This is the 2021 release of the Lagavulin Distillers Edition, an Islay single malt bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
It is double matured, with a finish in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks.
The nose brings peat smoke, sea air, fruit, raisins, vanilla and oak. The palate has more peat, medicinal notes and a salty edge, followed by fresh, fruity flavours and a hint of tobacco. The finish is long and warm.
