Lagg – Corriecravie

Corriecravie is a single malt from Lagg, matured in ex-bourbon barrels and then finished for about six months in an Oloroso sherry hogshead from Miguel Martin in Jerez. It is named after a small hamlet north-west of Lagg, in whose hills illicit Arran water was once made. It is the second release in the core range, following Kilmory, and came out in summer 2023. The nose is full of dark chocolate and spiced red fruit. The palate is rich, with smouldering embers and hazelnut. The finish brings charred oak and island smoke, with hazelnut, dark chocolate and sweet spice returning.
