Lagg – Kilmory (70cl, 46%)

Lagg Kilmory is the first core range single malt from Lagg Distillery, the peated sister distillery to Arran, bottled at 46%. It is made from peated Concerto malted barley and water from the distillery's own borehole, and matured entirely in first-fill bourbon casks. It is non-chill filtered and of natural colour. The nose is sweet with peat, citrus and gentle ashy smoke, like bonfire embers or old pubs, with a damp, earthy note. On the palate, citrus and tropical fruit meet vanilla, grassy and herby notes, and earthy ash that turns to cigar tobacco. The finish is short to medium, with earthy smoke and peppercorn spice.
