Lagg – Single Malt Heavily Peated Inaugural Release 2022 Batch 1

The first batch of the inaugural 2022 release from Lagg, the distillery on the Isle of Arran, and a heavily peated single malt. The name revives the history of Lagg, from where illicit Arran spirit, known as Arran Waters, was once smuggled to mainland Scotland. The colour is very pale, between white wine and light straw. The nose is of medium intensity, with a touch of earthy peat and a faint medicinal note behind it. Sweetness comes through as sweets and vanilla, alongside a light herbal note that recalls walking through a herb garden.
