Lagg – Single Malt Heavily Peated Inaugural Release 2022 Batch 3 Ex-Rioja Charred Red Wine Cask Finish

The third batch of the inaugural release from Lagg, the distillery on the Isle of Arran. It is a heavily peated single malt, distilled twice as with Batches 1 and 2, and matured for 30 months in first-fill ex-bourbon casks. It was then finished for six months in 55-litre firkins that previously held Rioja red wine, made specially for the distillery. The whisky is described as rich and complex, full of black fruit and toasted oak.
