A 10-year-old Swiss single malt from Langatun in Bern, in a 50cl bottle at 49.12% ABV. It is the first release in the distillery's Cask Finish series.
The whisky first matured in a Chardonnay cask, then spent a further 19 months in a Priorat red wine cask made from French oak. Fewer than 500 bottles resulted. Priorat is Catalonia's oldest wine-growing region.
The nose brings fresh roses, nutmeg, clove and oak alongside wine notes. The palate is smooth, with marzipan, banana between sweetness and spice, and Amarena cherries. The finish is long and gently spiced, with the cherries lingering.
