Langatun – Arinzano Cask Finish (50cl, 49.1%)

This is a Swiss single malt from Langatun, part of the distillery's Cask Finish series. It spent more than four years in a Chardonnay cask before moving for 11 months into a French oak red wine cask from the Arínzano estate in north-eastern Spain. The Chardonnay cask gave a delicate sweetness with vanilla and wood notes. The bottling is a small one, with 498 bottles filled. On the nose there are gingerbread spices, oak and caramel. The palate brings a refined spiciness with sweet and sour pineapple, fruit and toffee, and the finish stays fruity with pineapple, light sweetness, oak and toffee.
