Langhe Nebbiolo DOC - Crissante Alessandria

A red wine from La Morra in the Langhe, made from Nebbiolo grown on east-facing vineyards at about 250 metres on clay and limestone soils with marl. Hand-harvested in the first week of October, it ferments for about ten days in stainless steel with daily pump-overs, followed by malolactic fermentation. It ages for six months in large casks and a further six months in bottle in the underground cellar. Bright ruby red with garnet reflections, it shows red fruit, raspberry, apricot and cherry aromas with delicate violet notes. On the palate it is warm, dry and well balanced, with pleasant tannins, good structure and a persistent cherry finish.
