Laphroaig – 10 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 17 (2023) (58.3%)

Laphroaig 10 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 17 is an Islay single malt bottled at 58.3% without dilution. It is only lightly barrier-filtered, which removes the coarsest carbon particles from the cask and leaves the texture intact. The colour is golden. The nose is smoky and sweet, with candied apple, crème brûlée and pastry notes. On the palate, stewed apples, vanilla cream and pear in syrup give way to sea salt, peat smoke, seaweed, herbal smoke and menthol. The finish is long, with black pepper, old leather, sweet grassy smoke and tarry peat.
