Laphroaig 10 Year Old is an Islay single malt matured for ten years in ex-bourbon barrels and bottled at 40% ABV. It is a heavily peated whisky with a medicinal, smoky profile and a coastal character.
On the nose come peat smoke, seaweed, iodine and sea salt, with vanilla and a gentle sweetness from the bourbon casks. The full-bodied palate adds oak, sweet malt, sea salt and a touch of liquorice, and the finish is long and warming, with lingering peat.
