Laphroaig – 10 Year Old Islay Single Malt

Laphroaig 10 Year Old is an Islay single malt, matured for ten years in former Bourbon casks. The barley is dried over a peat fire, which gives the whisky its smoky, full character. Laphroaig was founded in 1815 by the farmers Donald and Alexander Johnston on the island's south coast, and it stayed in family hands for 139 years. The nose brings peat smoke, seaweed and a medicinal note with a little sweetness. On the palate, sweetness comes with salt and peat, and the finish is long, with sweet seaweed and a lingering glow.
