Laphroaig 10 Year Old is an Islay single malt matured in ex-bourbon casks and bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is a peated whisky, with smoke from Islay peat, a hint of seaweed and an unexpected sweetness.
The nose is very smoky and seaweedy, with a medicinal edge and a touch of sweetness. On the palate, sweetness comes through again alongside hints of salt and layers of peat. The finish is lingering.
