Laphroaig – 10 Year Old Original Cask Strength Batch 15 (56.5%)

This is the cask strength version of Laphroaig's 10 year old Islay single malt, bottled at 56.5% ABV in December 2021. It matured for ten years in charred ex-Bourbon casks and goes into the bottle at the natural strength of the cask, after barrier filtration. The nose brings vanilla, pipe tobacco and leather, alongside peat smoke, heather and sea salt. On the palate there is toffee, dark chocolate and cinnamon. A few drops of water draw out more peat smoke and a salty, maritime note.
