Laphroaig 10 Year Old Original Cask Strength is an Islay single malt bottled at 55.7% ABV. It is gold in colour and has been aged for ten years.
The nose combines medicinal notes of mercurochrome, bandages and eucalyptus with coastal air, fresh butter, apple compote, pepper, cider and lager. On the palate it is rich and thick, with bitter orange, marmalade, pepper, salt, liquorice and smoked tea.
The finish is long and mellow, with a little candy sugar alongside the peat and a distinct saltiness.
