A 10-year-old Laphroaig official bottling from the early 1990s, from before the distillery held its Royal Warrant. It comes in a 1 litre bottle at 43% ABV and is gold in colour.
The nose is creamy, layered peat smoke with a tangible texture, over dried mango, pink grapefruit, smoked and herbal teas, passion fruit, kumquat and crushed seashell. The palate brings dried exotic fruits, saline freshness and rich peat smoke, with green olive, capers in brine, anchovy paste, iodine, camphor and seawater. The finish is long and drying, with herbal peat, salt-cured fish, pink sea salt and grapefruit acidity.
