This is Laphroaig 12, a single malt Scotch whisky from Islay, aged for twelve years.
The nose is smoky and sweet with a little salt, and subtle lemon zest behind it. On the palate it is oily, with medicinal smoke and caramel, alongside ripe apples, some vanilla and woody spice. Dark chocolate sits in the background.
