This is Laphroaig 18 Year Old, reintroduced to the distillery's core range in mid-2024 and bottled at 48% ABV, as two earlier releases were. It was matured for over 18 years entirely in Bourbon barrels, which add vanilla and fruit notes to the smoky Laphroaig character.
The nose is smoky peat and sweet vanilla, with soft toffee and gooseberry. The palate brings spicy cinnamon and freshly baked apple tart. The finish is full-bodied and fruity, with fresh mint and peat.
