A single malt from Laphroaig Distillery on Islay, aged for 18 years and bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose opens with soft, refined peat smoke woven through vanilla and toffee, with gooseberry, fresh leather and sun-dried seaweed behind. The palate is oily and dense, with baked apple pie, cinnamon, orange and nectarine, then heather honey, ginger, tobacco and a marine, phenolic Islay character. The finish is very long, with lasting fruit, fresh mint and woody peat smoke.
