Laphroaig – 21 Years Old (35cl, 48.4%)

Laphroaig 21 Years Old is a single malt Scotch whisky bottled at 48.4% ABV in a 35cl bottle. The nose is soft and sweet, with mature peat, creamy vanilla, honey, caramel and apple pie, then tropical fruit such as mango, pineapple, melon and pear, with lime and grapefruit. Gentle bonfire smoke, sea air, iodine and medicinal notes sit beneath. The palate is silky, oily and full-bodied, with fruit in syrup, caramel and vanilla, white pepper, ginger and cinnamon, and more defined peat smoke with seaweed, tar, black liquorice and toasted wood. The finish is medium to long, with smoky ash, honey, sea salt and a dry, slightly bitter note from old oak.
