Laphroaig – 24 Years 1996 Elixir Distillers (70cl, 51.8%)

This single malt from Laphroaig on Islay was distilled in 1996 and matured for more than 24 years in a single cask that previously held bourbon. Elixir Distillers bottled it for The Single Malts of Scotland range at 51.8% in a 70cl bottle, in an edition of 217 bottles. It is very peated, non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. Intense and powerful, it is described as balancing earthy peat, cut grass and woody notes of chocolate and ash.
