A 25-year-old Islay single malt from Laphroaig, made as a tribute to Bessie Williamson, the first woman to manage, own and run a Scotch whisky distillery in the 20th century.
It was matured for 25 years in refill American oak hogsheads and refill barrels, and is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The larger hogshead lets the character of the spirit stay prominent over that time, while Laphroaig's signature smoky flavour still comes through.
The tasting note is sweet herbs and spices with black pepper.
