A 25 year old Islay single malt from Laphroaig, bottled at its natural cask strength of 49.8% ABV. It matured in ex-bourbon barrels and Oloroso sherry butts.
The nose is sweet vanilla and wood spice with smoke and TCP, some restrained smoked bacon and dried fruit underneath. The palate is creamy and rich with a full texture, peppery and spicy, with iodine, salinity, smoke and a little green apple. The finish is very long and layered, with waves of rich smoke and a peppery close.
