A 25 year old Islay single malt Scotch whisky from Laphroaig, matured in Oloroso sherry and American oak casks. It was bottled by D. Johnston & Co. at a cask strength of 48.6% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is peaty without being overwhelming, with cream and lemon, sweet almonds and light honey with a peppery touch. The smoke is gentle, recalling coastal bonfire ash, with iodine and sea notes in the background. The palate is round, oily and silky, with soft peat balanced by ripe pineapple, mango, papaya and peach. The finish is very long and warm, with fine tobacco ash, fruity sweetness, iodine and a dry spiciness.
