Laphroaig – 30 Year Old 1990s (75cl, 43%)

This is an official distillery bottling of Laphroaig 30 Year Old, an Islay single malt released around the turn of the millennium. It comes in a 75cl bottle at 43% abv. The release was a farewell of sorts for Iain Henderson, the distillery manager, who retired from Laphroaig soon afterwards. It is described as combining rich sherried fruit with real complexity, and with peat phenols that have gently mellowed over three decades.
