Laphroaig – Cairdeas 15 Year Old (2017) (70cl, 43%)

This is the 2017 Cairdeas from Laphroaig, a 15 year old peated single malt made for the annual Feis Ile. It was distilled in 2002, matured entirely in first-fill ex-bourbon casks and bottled on 21 June 2017 at 43%, in a 70cl bottle. The bourbon casks add depth to the classic Laphroaig style. The nose brings peat smoke, lemon peel, honey and soft vanilla. The palate is warm and oily, with sweet oak, spices, smoke and citrus. The finish is long and smoky, with a slight sweetness.
