Laphroaig – Lore (2016) (70cl, 48%)

Laphroaig Lore is a peated single malt from Laphroaig, here in its 2016 edition, bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. It is made from a blend of old sherry and bourbon casks, some of the oldest the distillery holds, so the peat smoke sits alongside deeper, richer flavours from the wood. The nose offers deep smoke, dark chocolate, raisins, sea salt and spice. The palate is oily, with intense peat, toasted wood, coffee and toffee, and some sherry influence. The finish is long, warm and smoky.
