Laphroaig Quarter Cask is an Islay single malt released in 2004. The whisky was aged for around five years, then finished for several months in a quarter cask, a small cask that needs a shorter maturation.
It is bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. The nose is oily and buttery, with toffee, nuts, hickory, rum and raisin ice cream and zest. On the palate a big wave of sweetness meets chilli heat, TCP, sweet cereals and a touch of cola syrup. The finish is medium in length and turns fruity, with custard and cigar smoke.
