Laphroaig Triple Wood is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle and non-chill filtered. It is matured in three stages: ex-bourbon barrels, then quarter casks, and finally European oak. The label records the distillery's founding in 1815.
The nose combines gentle peat with vanilla, caramel, raisins, apricot, nuts and oak. The palate is soft and creamy, opening with smoke and peat before buttery apple pie, toffee and exotic spice, with nuts and sherry balancing the heavy smoke. The finish is long, with bonfire smoke and ash fading to caramel, toasted spice and a slight bitterness.
