A 10 year old Islay single malt from Laphroaig, distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2022 by the German independent bottler Sansibar. It is a single cask release made exclusively for Taiwan, and it comes from a cask that filled 378 bottles.
Laphroaig still malts part of its own barley on site, with the floor maltings covering 20% of its needs. The distillery keeps them because its kiln is believed to give a more creosote-like phenolic character, and a tarry iodine note is counted among the signatures of its spirit.
