Ledaig Sinclair Series Rioja Cask Finish (70cl, 46.3%)

Ledaig Sinclair Series Rioja Cask Finish is a peated single malt from Tobermory Distillery on the Isle of Mull, bottled at 46.3% in a 70cl bottle. The series honours John Sinclair, who founded the distillery in 1798. After maturing in ex-bourbon casks, the whisky was finished in Spanish Rioja wine casks, which give it a ruby colour. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The nose has charred oak, red berries and sea spray with cinnamon and smoke. On the palate peat meets red fruit, with black cherries, burnt sugar and warm spice. The finish is long, with smouldering wood, salted caramel and a note of wine sweetness.
