Leith Bond Fortrie (Macduff) 8 Year Old Single Cask (70cl, 47.5%)

A single cask 8 year old from Fortrie, distilled at Macduff Distillery, bottled at 47.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered with no added colouring, and 325 bottles were filled. The whisky matured in a refill bourbon ASB cask and was finished in a Bordeaux red wine barrique. The label plays on the sound of Fortrie, said like 'four-tree', and shows four of Scotland's native trees. The nose opens with floral and fruity notes and hints of cedarwood and mocha. The palate is juicy, with plums, ripe cherries and banana bread, gentle wood spice and a subtle astringency, leading to a warm, lingering finish.
