Lindores Abbey – MCDXCIV Single Malt (70cl, 46%)

Lindores Abbey MCDXCIV is the first regular bottling from the Lowland distillery at Lindores Abbey, which began distilling in 2017. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The whisky matured in a combination of ex-bourbon, ex-sherry and ex-wine casks. The abbey itself is tied to an entry in the Exchequer Rolls of 1494, which records Friar John Cor being commissioned to make aqua vitae from eight bolls of malt, the earliest known written mention of whisky in Scotland.
