Lindores MCDXCIV is a Lowland single malt bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is matured in a combination of bourbon, red wine and sherry casks.
The name is the Roman numeral form of 1494, the year of the written record in which the monk John Cor was commissioned by King James IV to turn eight bolls of malt into aqua vitae. The distillery sits among the ruins of the old monastery. Production restarted there in 2017, and the first whisky was released in spring 2021.
