Lindores Abbey – Nectere Sherry Casks (70cl, 47.2%)

Lindores Abbey Nectere is a Lowland single malt from the Lindores Abbey distillery in Fife, bottled at 47.2% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The whisky is a marriage of four sherry cask types: Oloroso, Pedro Ximénez, Amontillado and Palo Cortado. Oloroso brings dry, spicy and nutty notes, Pedro Ximénez dark fruit sweetness, Amontillado a refined nuttiness and Palo Cortado dry spice. The nose offers raisins, dark molasses and creamy vanilla. The palate is velvety and full, with ripe dark fruit, sweet nutty macaroons and roasted pecans. The finish is long and warmly spiced, with dark fruit lingering as drier wood and spice come through.
