Lindores Abbey – Single Malt (70cl)

A single malt from Lindores Abbey Distillery, in Newburgh between Perth and St Andrews, in a 70cl bottle. The abbey's monks are known to have made aqua vita from barley here, and a royal order to Friar John Cor to make it is recorded in 1494. Spirit began to run again at Lindores in 2017. Drew McKenzie-Smith built the distillery on Lindores Abbey Farm, which has been in his family since 1915. Concerto barley grows in the fields beside it, and as much as possible of what the whisky needs is produced locally.
