Friar John Cor Chapter II is the second edition of the cask strength Congregation single malt from Lindores Abbey distillery. It is bottled at 60.9% ABV without chill filtration.
It was matured in a combination of bourbon, STR and peated rum casks, the rum casks having previously held heavily peated Islay whisky.
The nose has maple syrup, baked bananas, dates and apples with cinnamon, caramelised cane sugar and a hint of earthy peat smoke. The palate is rich and creamy, with roasted bananas, pears, caramelised cinnamon almonds and subtle smoky, maritime notes. The finish is long, creamy and balanced.
