This Linkwood is a 15 year old Speyside single malt, distilled in 2008 and bottled at 55.6% by Murray McDavid in its Benchmark range.
The whisky spent its first five years in French oak. It was then finished for a full ten years in a Margaux wine barrique.
The nose offers strawberry, milk chocolate and a biscuit note. On the palate the strength is noticeable without getting in the way, with candied nuts and a mixed berry character. The finish brings glazed cherries and a pleasant woody note.
