This is a 15 year old Linkwood, a Speyside single malt in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in two Blood Tub casks.
On the nose it opens with roasted hazelnuts, vanilla and warm honey, with ripe pear, yellow apple and a touch of peach behind. The palate is full and oily, with the fruit coated in creamy caramel and crunchy hazelnut brittle, and dry oak spice adding depth. The alcohol is well integrated and brings only a pleasant warmth.
The finish is long and warming, with sweet fruit, malt and caramel lingering while oak and spice turn it gently dry.
