A 16-year-old Linkwood from Speyside, bottled by Best Dram from a single cask at a cask strength of 55.7% ABV. The spirit was distilled on 30 October 2008, matured throughout in a first fill Oloroso sherry hogshead and bottled on 8 November 2024.
The nose has rum-soaked raisins, roasted hazelnuts, ripe gooseberries, toffee, mocha and spicy oak, with a touch of clove. The palate is oily and full-bodied, with dark cherries, bitter chocolate, chilli and pepper warmth and a lift of orange zest. The finish is long, with dark chocolate and sherry giving way to herbs and oak spice.
