A 42 year old Linkwood from Speyside, selected by Signatory Vintage for its Rare Reserve range. It was distilled on 31 May 1974 and matured in two hogsheads before being bottled on 1 February 2017 at a natural cask strength of 40.9%, in a 70cl bottle. The outturn was 237 numbered bottles, and the whisky is non-chill-filtered with no added colour. The nose is vanilla and fudge with maple syrup, roasted almonds, milk chocolate, sweet spices and pine cones. Caramel and pear drop sweetness lead the palate, with barley malt, sweet pastry, gentle citrus acidity and earthy cedar. The finish brings fine oak, toffee apple and strong espresso beans.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
