This is a 31 year old Linkwood from Speyside, finished in a first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead. It was distilled on 5 June 1995 and bottled by Best Dram on 17 July 2026 at a cask strength of 50.6%, in a 70cl bottle. The single cask gave 347 bottles, and the whisky is not chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The sherry brings figs and chocolate with leather and fine oak spice. Despite the dark character, it is soft and round, and less sweet than the PX finish might suggest.
The nose is raisins, ripe plums and dark sugar syrup, with caramel, vanilla and a little oak. The palate is full and velvety, almost syrupy, with dried figs, honey and brown sugar. The finish is long, with firm oak spice and bitter dark chocolate.
