Linkwood – 2012-2022 9 Year Old Murray McDavid Benchmark (70cl, 46%)

This is a 9 year old Linkwood from Speyside, distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2022 by Murray McDavid for their Benchmark series. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 46%, without colouring or chill filtration. The whisky was finished in first fill Oloroso sherry casks, taken from a small batch of sister casks, and yielded 1503 bottles. The nose offers rich fruit, creamy mocha and vanilla. On the palate come praline, honeyed malt and sweet spice, and the finish is oily, with dark chocolate and mellow oak.
