This Linkwood spent 31 years in a single barrel and was chosen for the Director's Special series of The Single Malts of Scotland. It is a Speyside single malt, bottled at a cask strength of 49.6% in 70cl bottles, without chill-filtration or added colour. Only 140 bottles were filled, and each comes in a wooden box.
The nose offers peach Bellini and choux pastry with white chocolate and a sweet, fruity cream filling, plus sugar-dusted shortbread and sugared almonds. The palate brings peach and pear fondant, white chocolate and buttery biscuit, with clear notes of dry white wine towards the end. The finish is long and fruity, leaving dried barley and old cigar box wood.
