Linkwood – 56 Year Old 1966/2022 Dram Takers Collection Gordon & MacPhail First Fill Sherry Cask #789 (54.1%)

This is a 56 year old Linkwood single malt from Speyside, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in its Dram Takers Collection. It was distilled in 1966 and bottled in 2022 at 54.1% ABV. The whisky matured in a first fill sherry hogshead, and 53 bottles were filled. The nose shows great depth of ripe raisins, plums and dark chocolate, lifted by blood orange. On the palate come raspberries and cane sugar, moving to liquorice and dry tobacco. The finish is very long, with a restrained bitter note recalling grapefruit.
