This is an old bottling of Littlemill, a 5 year old Lowland single malt at 35% ABV (70 proof), from the days of direct-heat distillation. The Littlemill distillery closed in 1996 and burnt down in 2004.
The colour is pale, like white wine. The nose is fresh, fruity and floral, with lilac, violet, cider apple, kiwi and rhubarb, developing into vanilla and caramel. The palate has soft spices and cooked apple, then violet sweets, caramel, vanilla fudge, soft tannins, praline, milk chocolate and a dash of white pepper. The finish is long and soft.
