This is an 11 year old Laphroaig from Islay, bottled independently by Living Souls. It was matured for 11 years in refill bourbon barrels and bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and with natural colour.
The nose is led by bonfire smoke, medicinal peat and iodine, lifted by sea spray and lemon zest, with vanilla cream, treacle and baked bread underneath.
The palate is rich and oily, with smoked malt, sea salt, citrus oils and earthy peat, then vanilla, oak spice and lemon curd. The finish is long and smoky, with medicinal peat, salinity, warming oak and soft bourbon sweetness.
