Loch Lomond – 8 Year Old Madeira Finish (1L)

This is an 8 year old Scotch single malt from Loch Lomond, matured in American oak casks and then given further time in Madeira casks. The Madeira stage is what shapes the style, bringing out an orchard-fruit character and adding touches of marzipan and spice. The nose opens with bursts of fresh orange, followed by almond marzipan and nutmeg, with oak and raisins in the background. On the palate it is velvety and soft, with peach and fig over rich caramel and delicate nuttiness.
