Loch Lomond – The Nine 2010 1st Fill Bordeaux Red Wine Hogshead (Cask 1/6) (70cl, 55%)

This is a Loch Lomond single malt from The Nine range, a 2010 whisky matured in a first-fill Bordeaux red wine hogshead, cask 1/6. It is bottled at 55% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and with no added colouring. The nose opens with blackcurrants that give way to clove-studded oranges and sweet nectarines. On the palate come sticky maple syrup, toffee, strawberries and vanilla, with a trace of smoke. The finish carries on the impressions of the nose and palate.
