Long John Macdonald Special Reserve is a Scotch whisky from Long John Distilleries, distilled, blended and bottled in Scotland. It comes in a 75cl bottle with a box, at 40% ABV.
The nose is fresh and light, led by malted cereal and grain, with subtle vanilla, honey and caramel and a very soft touch of toasted oak and almonds. On the palate it is mainly malty, with toasted almond sweetness, light oak and a faint smoky background. The finish is short, firm and dry, leaving wood and grain in the aftertaste.
