Long John Macdonald is a blend of Highland, Island and Strathclyde whiskies, distilled, blended and bottled in Scotland by Long John Distilleries. This version comes with an embroidered crest. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle, and the label gives 1825 as the year of establishment.
The nose is fresh and light, led by malted cereal and grain, with subtle vanilla, honey and caramel and a very soft touch of toasted oak and almonds. On the palate it is mainly malty, with toasted almond sweetness, light oak and a faint smoky background. The finish is short, firm and dry, leaving wood and grain in the aftertaste.
